The process of setting up a remote ION Masternode may seem daunting but you only need to follow a few steps.
Start with the checklist and work your way through the steps.
Step 0 – Checklist
You will need the following.
- 20,000.1 ION coins. You only need 20,000 for your masternode, but do need a bit more to make the transactions.
- Latest version of the ION wallet – check the ION website for the official version
- 10 minutes of your time
Step 1 – Enable Coin Control
Go to Settings, select Options, Wallet, and tick “Display coin control features (experts only!)”, click Ok.
Step 2 – Create Receive Address
Select Receive, click New Address, Type your masternode’s Alias into LABEL. Alias can be anything, we often go with MN1 or MN2 etc… Then click Ok.
Step 3 – Send 20,000 ION to the new address
Copy the receiving address and close the pop-up window. Navigate to the “Send” screen and follow these steps:
- Paste the new address in “Pay To”
- Type 20,000 in “Amount”
- Click the Send button at the bottom left
- Click okay to confirm the transaction fee
Note: Do not alter the amount of 20,000 ION and send the amount in one single transaction.
If you have an existing masternode, you MUST use COIN CONTROL so coins are not sent from an existing masternode.
Our GIF uses Coin Control – but you can use the easier instructions above unless you’re installing multiple ION masternodes now.
Using Coin control is good practice and required for sending ION once a masternode is set up.
Step 4 – Email NODEshare your Address
You will receive an email with the title “Ionomy Masternode Order Confirmation”. Simply reply to this email with your address from Step 2 in the message and send it back to us
Step 5 – Configure your local wallet
Go to masternodes tab – > My Masternodes, click Create
Fill in the Add ION NODE details.
Alias: -> you chose earlier
Privkey: Private Key
TxHash: TX ID
Output Index: Index
All other from the info of the text file provided by NODEshare, click Ok
Click Update and your Masternode will appear.
Step 6 – Start Masternode
Select the Dashboard tab, hover over Paypment to yourself and check if you have more than 10 confirmations.
Select the Masternodes tab, click My Masternodes, highlight your newly created Masternode and click “Start”.
A message will appear that the Masternode was started successfully. Happy Dividends!
If you have errors. 1st Recheck your work.
If you get the “could not allocate vin error” – check coin control and make sure that 20,000 coins are in the specified address.
